Summer Reading

Principal's Summer Reading Challenge

Welcome to the BHS Summer Reading Website! Summer Reading is not what it used to be! We are hoping you will join Mr. Palumbo and a number of BHS teachers this summer as we catch up on our reading. We would like to know what you have read over the summer and we will welcome your book reviews or book trailers until school begins in August.

You may choose any age appropriate book that interests you to read this summer. If you are enrolled in a course that requires you to read a novel you may use that title to complete your summer reading. A few suggested titles appear on the Fiction and Non Fiction pages of this website. These are only suggestions, and you are not limited to these titles. You may check out summer reading books from the library. Suggested book lists may be found here.

You may also want to tweet about the book you are reading and keep the entire Brookfield reading community up to date on your book. Tweet your reading insights to #bhssummerreading.

When you submit your book trailer here, we will enter it into the Best of BHS Reads Book Trailer Contest. The finalists will be announced in September and the entire student body will be able to vote for the winners.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd places in both the fiction and non fiction categories. The form for submitting book trailers or book reviews is below. All students are expected to post a book trailer or book review by Friday, September 6, 2013. Book talks will take place that same week during Flex B meetings.

Let the reading begin!
