Inclement Weather

Please note the following process employed when inclement weather causes a school cancellation, delayed opening or early dismissal.  This procedure is almost exactly the same as utilized in previous years.

  1. The Superintendent reviews the conditions with the Police and Town Departments as well as with a meteorologist working with neighboring school districts.
  2. Once the final decision is made, the Superintendent contacts key local personnel, including Administrative Assistant Lisa Gramling, All-Star Transportation, and Whitsons Food Service.
  3. Mrs. Gramling communicates the decision to: staff and parents via Schoolmessenger email only; Connecticut Weather (the communication to radio stations); Channels 3, 6 and 8; Brookfield Public Schools website; and the district voicemail system.
