BPS Text Message Alert Service

BPS District Text Messaging Service

If you would like to receive text messages from the Brookfield Public Schools, you must “opt in” for this service—federal regulations prevent us from using the text message feature to contact you without your permission.  The process is simple and only takes a few seconds to complete.

You can only receive text messages on phone numbers that we have in PowerSchool.   If you haven’t already provided that information, please log into the Powerschool Parent Portal and enter your "Texting Phone Number" on the Student Information page.  It will take 24 hours for the system to update after the change is made.

When this is completed, you will receive a text message from 67587 requesting you opt-in by texting a “Y” or “YES” to continue receiving important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more.

Please note, although the district does not charge you for this service, it does not pay for text message charges that may be incurred by you for sending or receiving text messages. Check with your wireless carrier for possible charges.

What if I don’t want text messages?

If the School Messenger system cannot match a texting phone number to a student, no texts will be sent to that phone. You can also “Opt Out” at any time by texting STOP to 67587. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your student’s school.

District Employees Only: Communication regarding opting-in for text messaging will be sent soon.

Thank you,
