Update G-Return to In-Person & COVID-19 Dashboard

Dear Families, Faculty and Staff,

In an effort to proactively communicate the COVID-19 public health information, the Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the CT State Department of Education, has launched a new dashboard for the public reporting of confirmed COVID-19 cases among PK-12 students and staff in all public and private schools. The data tables are searchable by school and will be maintained on the Connecticut Open Data Portal. Data will be updated every Thursday and will reflect the total student and staff cases. At the bottom of the data portal page, you will also find several specific links related to COVID-19 and school districts.

Considering the recent uptick in positive COVID-19 cases in our region and in Brookfield, the school team will be collaborating with Dr Sullivan, Brookfield Health Director and Dr. Davis, Brookfield Public Schools Medical Advisor, early next week to evaluate the COVID-19 trend data. This collaboration will inform our current plans for returning to school in the Hybrid Model on Thursday, November 5th. Furthermore, our meeting will include discussion regarding the impact, if any, of the current uptick in COVID-19 cases on our plan to return to 100% In Person learning for K-8 students on Monday, November 9th.  We will communicate the results of our meeting in a timely manner.

Kindly,

Dr. John W. Barile

Superintendent
