Parent Receives the Following Error When Trying to Log into Parent Portal:
"Cannot sign in due to server error.  Please contact your server's administrator."

  • To avoid this issue it is recommended that when a parent/guardian session is completed, that the user clicks "Sign Out" to close the session.  DO not just close the browser window.  By just closing the browser window, and attempting to login from another browser or another computer without signing out of the first session can trigger this issue.

Already Have a PowerSchool Login from Last Year

  • Parents that created an account last year can now access that account without creating a new one.

Misplaced my Child's Access ID & Access Password

  • If you have misplaced your Access Id & Access Password letter, please contact your child’s school.  The school will mail you a new letter with the information.

How to Recover Your User Name
If you have forgotten your PowerSchool Parent Portal user name, you will be unable to log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal.  Use this procedure to recover your current user name.  Once you provide your email address, your current user name will be sent to your email.

  • Open your web browser to this page.  The Log In page appears.
  • Click Having trouble signing in?  The Recover Account Login Information page appears.
  • Click the Forgot User Name?  Tab to recover your user name.
  • Enter your email address in the first field.
  • Click Enter.  A confirmation message appears indicating an email has been sent to you with your current user name.

How to Recover Your Password
If you have forgotten your PowerSchool Parent Portal password, you will be unable to log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal.  Use this procedure to recover your password.  Once you provide your user name and email address, the system authenticates your information and sends a security token to your email address.  Using the security token, you can then log back into the PowerSchool Parent Portal, where you will then be required to change your password.  Note: The security token is only valid for 30 minutes.  If it expires before you can reset your password, perform the How to Recover Your Password again.

  • Open your web browser to this page.  The Log In page appears.
  • Click Having trouble signing in?  The Recover Account Login Information page appears.
  • Click the Forgot Password?  Tab to recover your password, if needed.
  • Enter your user name in the first field.
  • Enter your email address in the second field.
  • Click Enter.  A confirmation message appears indicating an email has been sent to you with instructions for resetting your password.

If you are trying to reset your password and you are not getting the "Reply Email from PowerSchool",  please contact the main office of your child's school.

Trouble Linking your Child to Your Existing Login

Not Getting Emails from the PowerSchool Public Portal. Why Not?

  • Did you sign-up for Email Notifications on the Email Notifications page?  Please double check the email address you entered because if one character (letter/number/space) is off, you won’t receive emails.
  • Does your email program have a spam blocker that could be blocking the messages?  If so, you will want to add the email address noreply@brookfieldps.org to the list of “allowed” email addresses so PowerSchool emails can get through.
  • Did you check your email's BULK or SPAM folder?  Check to see if the messages are going there and choose to mark them as NOT SPAM.  You will have to consult your email's help menu or manual to learn how to do this as it is different for every email program.

Why Am I Receiving the Error Message:

  • An account with that email address already exists?  When creating a Parent/Guardian account for the PowerSchool Public Portal, the email address has to be unique.  One household cannot use the same email address to create multiple parent/guardian accounts.
  • An account with that User Name already exists?  When creating a Parent / Guardian account for the PowerSchool Public Portal, the User Name has to be unique.  Multiple persons cannot create an account with the same User Name.
  • Student has not been added to your account.  Valid student information must be entered.  You have entered an incorrect Access ID or Access Password.  Access codes ARE CASE SENSITIVE.  Please check that you are entering them exactly as they are printed on the letter you received from your child's school.  Also, check letters such as the capital letter I versus the number one and the capital letter O versus the number zero.  The zeros are much more narrow than the letter capital O.

Still Having Trouble Logging In - What Else Can I Try?

  • Clear your computer cache and attempt to login again.
  • Do not use a bookmark or shortcut currently on your computer.

Email Address has Changed & you Forgot your Username/Password

  • You will not be able to use the "Having Trouble Logging In" feature in the portal because the automated email will be sent to your old email address.  Please contact your child's school.

After Clicking Submit, the Page Reloads to a Blank Username and Password Line and Does Not Login. Help?

  • PowerSchool uses "cookies" and this means your internet security is set too high, probably to the highest level of security, which blocks cookies.  Depending on your browser, you will need to find the Internet Security area and turn it down a level or two so cookies are accepted.  You can find out more information about this by going to your web browser's help menu and doing a search on "cookies" or "internet security."
