Inclement Weather

Please note the following process employed when inclement weather causes a school cancellation, delayed opening or early dismissal. This procedure is almost exactly the same as utilized in previous years.

  • The Superintendent reviews the conditions with the Police and Town Departments as well as with a meteorologist working with neighboring school districts.
  • Once the final decision is made, the Superintendent contacts key local personnel, including Administrative Assistant Lisa Gramling, All-Star Transportation, and Whitsons Food Service.
  • Mrs. Gramling communicates the decision to:  staff and parents via Schoolreach email only; Connecticut Weather (the communication to radio stations); Channels 3, 6 and 8; Brookfield Public Schools website; and the district voicemail system.
