Response to 9-10-15 incident

Good evening. If you have not done so already, please read the previous communication from our Superintendent regarding the details surrounding today's incident. If you did not get his communication the letter is posted on the district homepage. Click here to read the letter.

We will resume classes tomorrow following an A1 day schedule. I want to share with you some additional information about my plan moving forward.

First and foremost, our School Resource Officer and a Brookfield Police Department detective have already begun their investigation. The person responsible for this incident will face serious school and legal consequences. If you have any relevant information, please contact me or Officer Quintard, our School Resource Officer.

I am implementing temporary procedures to protect our school community and to ensure our students have the opportunity to access an uninterrupted education.

Moving forward:

Only two sets of bathrooms will be unlocked for student use (main hallway outside the cafeteria and the Math wing).

  • Once class begins, only one student is allowed out of a classroom at at time.
  • Students leaving a classroom must sign out and sign in.
  • Students leaving a classroom must have a signed pass indicating their name, date, destination, and time of departure.
  • I appreciate your anticipated understanding in this delicate and challenging situation. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Marc Balanda.
